Decorative panel materials for doors

XPS, PVC, HPL, stainless steel and glass: which material lasts longest on your door. A guide from a Bulgarian manufacturer of made-to-order panels.

Materials for decorative door and window panels

PVC, HPL, stainless steel and glass — plus the XPS core beneath every panel we build. Here is what each material gives you, and when it is worth it.

Four materials, four different answers

PVC

Lightweight, water-resistant, affordable. It takes rain and outdoor exposure in its stride — the sensible choice when the budget has to cover the whole building.

HPL

Premium laminate with high resistance to impact, UV and chemicals. It keeps its colour and its surface for 15+ years — it looks the part and survives daily life.

Stainless Steel 304

Anti-corrosion steel with a designer finish. It does not rust, does not fade and does not go out of fashion — elegance that lasts for generations.

Glass

Clear, matte or sandblasted. It brings daylight into the hallway and character to the facade — without opening your home to passing eyes.

Which material for which job

Material choice is not a matter of taste but of conditions: climate, exposure, the style of the building and the budget. Here is how we settle it with our customers every day.

For a residential front door

A PVC frame with an HPL facing and stainless-steel accents. This combination gives the best balance of cost, durability and looks — which is why it is the one most often ordered.

For an office or commercial property

Stainless-steel panels or full HPL. They take heavy traffic, wipe clean in seconds and still look presentable years later.

For coastal areas

Always stainless steel 304 or 316. Salt destroys other materials within years — this is where saving money costs the most.

For historic and period buildings

Decorative panels with classical ornament: a PVC base with an HPL finish in oak, walnut or wenge. The shape suggests the era; the material works to modern standards.

What sits under the facing

All our panels are built on an XPS core, which can be replaced with a timber base on request. Inox panels can also be made with HPL. This is the part nobody sees — and it is exactly the part that decides how the panel behaves over the years.

Glass and helima

We work with matte, white, Delta 2 and Stopsol — combined as you choose for the outer and the inner face. Helima in white or gold sets the pattern of the glazing and can differ inside and out.

If you are looking for a “door filling”

A door filling (infill panel) is the other name for our decorative panel: the solid leaf with an XPS core that fits into PVC or aluminium frames. We make it to the exact size of your profile — XPS or timber base, HPL, stainless or smooth facing. Every model in the catalogue can also be ordered as a panel for PVC frames, for aluminium frames, or complete with its frame — mounted in a casing, ready to fit.
