An HPL panel for an entrance door: compact laminate to EN 438, resistant to UV, moisture and scratching. As the face of a decorative panel, made to your size.
HPL is high-pressure compact laminate: paper layers impregnated with resin and pressed into a dense board. On an entrance door that means a surface that does not fade in the sun or peel in the rain.
The EN 438 standard sets out exactly what a compact laminate has to withstand: UV, moisture, impact, scratching and cleaning agents. That is why HPL is used where the surface lives outdoors — and an entrance door is precisely such a place.
Here HPL is the face of a decorative panel, not a door in itself. It is bonded onto an XPS or timber core, and the panel is made to your opening so it fits the rebate of a PVC or aluminium frame.
The full technical data is in our material guides. If you are weighing HPL against stainless or bond, there is a comparison table there too.
